Everybody's John Wesley...
The Vision...
To Have John Wesley Teach
Plain Truth
To Plain People
In Plain Words.

The purpose of the Wesley Project is to reintroduce John Wesley to the movement he founded and to make him readily available and understandable to people today.

For example, what did John Wesley teach about:
  • Methodists being born again?
  • Methodists being saved?
  • Methodists being baptized?
  • Methodists being holy?
  • Methodists being an "Almost" Christians?
  • Methodists being Justified?
  • Methodists being Sanctified?
  • Methodist's need for "True Christian Faith?"
It is an unfortunate fact that most people of modern Wesleyan tradition cannot answer these basic yet critical questions with any degree of confidence.

John Wesley is readily acknowledged as one of the most influential teachers, preachers, theologians, and evangelists of the Christian Era..

Even so, many of the people called Methodists know only about John Wesley but they know little of what he taught. They have seldom, or never, read, studied, or considered in any depth the Wesleyan message that spiritually and culturally transformed England and America.

To accomplish this, we needed a “modern” version of Wesley’s sermons. Thanks to Dr. Kenneth Kinghorn of Asbury Theological Seminary, we were able to draw upon his helpful work, John Wesley On Christian Beliefs: The Standard Sermons In Modern English. Dr. Kinghorn's transcription of Wesley’s sermons gives us both theological accuracy and linguistic clarity.

In addition, we designed these studies to be “lay-driven.”  They can be “facilitated” by ordinary Christians who are not theological specialists.  Creative application of modern technology makes this both possible and desirable.  They can be both "group studied" and "self studied."

Our world today is poised for the rebirth of true Wesleyan theology as taught by John Wesley himself.  Wesley's presentation of the Good News is biblical, powerful, clear, and relevant.  Wesleyan theology is not "Christianity Lite."  It is "real meat" for hungry people.

Our first study series is titled “Everybody’s John Wesley.”  The series consists of the study of four classic Wesley sermons which clearly answer twenty crucial questions:

The Almost Christian

* What Is An Almost Christian?
* What Is An Altogether Christian?

The Scripture Way Of Salvation

* What Is Christianity's Purpose?
* How Does Christianity Accomplish That Purpose?
* What Is Salvation?
* What Is Faith?
* How Are We Saved By This Faith?

Justification By Faith

* What Is The Basis For Our Hope?
* What Is A Right Relationship With God?
* What Is The Biblical Foundation For This Teaching?
* What Is The Nature Of Justification?
* Who Gets Justified?
* How Can We Be Justified?
* What Conclusions Can We Draw From This Teaching?

The New Birth

* Why Must We Be Born Again?
* When Are We Born Again?
* How Should We Be Born Again?
* What Is The Nature Of The New Birth?
* What Is The Purpose Of The New Birth?
* What Must One Do To Be Born Again?

A Thorough Understanding of These Four Sermons Will Produce
Conscious, Confident, Committed Christians.

People Who Know That They Know.
